About Us
Steve Gravely founded Gravely Group in 2018 after nearly 30 years as a healthcare lawyer in "Big Law". Steve wanted to provide top quality strategic legal services to health care providers and others operating in the health care industry in a cost-effective way. He does this by operating virtually to avoid expensive overhead like fancy offices and lots of back-office staff. Steve can pass these savings directly to his clients by lower fees.
Meet the Team
Steve has worked in the healthcare industry his entire career. He worked in the Emergency Department of the Williamsburg Community Hospital while in college at William and Mary. Upon graduating, Steve worked as an Administrative Intern with a large, teaching hospital where he focused on special projects for the c-suite and worked as the “house administrator” on weekends. He learned healthcare from the ground up as a “hands on” administrator.
After earning his Master’s Degree in Health Administration, Steve worked in several healthcare environments before earning his law degree. His combination of rea-world healthcare experience and legal expertise allows Steve to really understand his clients and give them the practical strategic legal and business advice that they need in today’s chaotic world.
Steve’s unique perspective on healthcare originates from his experience as a firefighter and EMS with the Williamsburg Fire Department during college. Today, Steve continues his passion for service as a volunteer member of the National Ski Patrol providing EMS services to injured guests on the slopes. First Responders must be calm, skilled and able to use whatever resources are available to overcome immediate challenges, and it is this “First Responder” mentality that Steve brings to his work representing healthcare organizations on complex legal and strategy issues.
